Rules of the Altar has been published! Follow the link to check it out and also read all of the amazing short stories Red Line Magazine chose for their ‘Conflict’ issue (spoiler alert: remember that story I told you I really enjoyed? It won the competition!).
Submitting to that competition has been a really great experience and a very pleasant surprise, since my first story ever submitted anywhere got shortlisted and published. The formatting of Rules of the Altar is pretty unusual if not weird, so I’m really grateful that they gave me this opportunity and I look forward to trying my hand at new pieces in the future.
I’ve also written two more one-shots for the Quidditch League Fanfiction Competition. Bloodlines is a Tonks/Lupin story about grief and family and war, and Middlegame is a sinister!angst story about Dumbledore and Grindelwald. They’re both under 3,000 words, so it makes for a great quick read before bed, if you do that sort of thing.
Also, Bloodlines has inspired me to do a Marius Black-centric multichapter fanfic at some point in the near future, and I’m currently in the process of outlining it and doing enough research so that it’s not completely historically inaccurate. You know, besides the wizards and magic and all that.
Sorry, this post is just me plugging things. I promise I’ll have some more content soon – maybe I’ll try my hand at some flash fiction once my plate is a little less full.
Awesome! The link to your short story isn’t working for me, but I would love to read it! Love ur blog xxxx
